This is the story of a girl.

My God can move mountians and calm the raging seas.

The Word.
God, your word, your every word leaves me completely speechless, for I know, compared to your word, mine amounts to absolutely nothing.
It’s like you wrote every single line to inspire me, yet I’ve been fighting against everything that you’ve ever said.
Fighting hard.
I’ve always wanted a man that was handsome in spirit and witty with words, and you have proven yourself worthy of all of my attention.
Lord, sweet father, gracious king, you are more than I could ever deserve.
& that’s the beauty of grace.
I have cheated on you so many times before, focusing on things of this world, desiring the things I simply don’t need.
You told me long ago, that you would take care my hearts every desire, yet I continue to fight.
I fight hard.

Tonight was yet another magical evening at The Oasis.
So often my heart is only touched by the lyrics during worship, the prayers of others, or witnessing someone else being challenged and changed: but tonight was different.
I wanted 2012 to be the year I received God’s word in a whole new way, and tonight, tonight was wonderful.
Tonight’s message was about God, & how we see Him, and how we apply this to sharing the gospel.
We had a drawing activity, which I’m normally drooling over, and a word association activity, yet the scripture was the main thing that fascinated me.
The Word, the word was good.

The Word, describes you Lord, in a way that truly shakes my heart.
In your words, I can see you ever so clearly Lord.

Who has scooped up the ocean in his two hands, or measured the sky between his thumb and little finger, Who has put all the earth’s dirt in one of his baskets, weighed each mountain and hill? Who could ever have told God what to do or taught him his business? What expert would he have gone to for advice, what school would he attend to learn justice? What god do you suppose might have taught him what he knows, showed him how things work? Why, the nations are but a drop in a bucket, a mere smudge on a window. Watch him sweep up the islands like so much dust off the floor! There aren’t enough trees in Lebanon nor enough animals in those vast forests to furnish adequate fuel and offerings for his worship. All the nations add up to simply nothing before him-less than nothing is more like it. A minus. So who even comes close to being like God? To whom or what can you compare him? (Isaiah 40:12-18 MSG)

Christ arrives right on time to make this happen. He didn’t, and doesn’t, wait for us to get ready. He presented himself for this sacrificial death when we were far too weak and rebellious to do anything to get ourselves ready. And even if we hadn’t been so weak, we wouldn’t have known what to do anyway. We can understand someone dying for a person worth dying for, and we can understand how someone good and noble could inspire us to selfless sacrifice. But God put his love on the line for us by offering his Son in sacrificial death while we were of no use whatever to him. Now that we are set right with God by means of this sacrificial death, the consummate blood sacrifice, there is no longer a question of being at odds with God in any way. (Romans 5:6-9 MSG)

That energy is God’s energy, an energy deep within you, God himself willing and working at what will give him the most pleasure. (Philippians 2:13 MSG)

There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears. (Philippians 1:6 MSG)

Don’t overlook the obvious here, friends. With God, one day is as good as a thousand years, a thousand years as a day. God isn’t late with his promise as some measure lateness. He is restraining himself on account of you, holding back the End because he doesn’t want anyone lost. He’s giving everyone space and time to change. But when the Day of God’s Judgment does come, it will be unannounced, like a thief. The sky will collapse with a thunderous bang, everything disintegrating in a huge conflagration, earth and all its works exposed to the scrutiny of Judgment. Since everything here today might well be gone tomorrow, do you see how essential it is to live a holy life? Daily expect the Day of God, eager for its arrival. The galaxies will burn up and the elements melt down that day - (2 Peter 3:8-12 MSG)

This, in essence, is the message we heard from Christ and are passing on to you: God is light, pure light; there’s not a trace of darkness in him. If we claim that we experience a shared life with him and continue to stumble around in the dark, we’re obviously lying through our teeth-we’re not living what we claim. But if we walk in the light, God himself being the light, we also experience a shared life with one another, as the sacrificed blood of Jesus, God’s Son, purges all our sin. If we claim that we’re free of sin, we’re only fooling ourselves. A claim like that is errant nonsense. On the other hand, if we admit our sins-make a clean breast of them-he won’t let us down; he’ll be true to himself. He’ll forgive our sins and purge us of all wrongdoing. (1 John 1:5-9 MSG)
